Our Story
Hameed Gul Memorial Ultrasound Institute and Clinics (HGMUIC) was established as a heartfelt tribute to the late Hameed Gul, the esteemed father of Dr. Nasir Hameed. More than a gesture of filial devotion, the institute stands as a beacon of medical excellence, innovation, and community service. The enduring legacy of Hameed Gul is reflected in the institute’s mission—deeply rooted in compassion, education, and the advancement of healthcare.
Founded by Dr. Nasir Hameed—a pioneering leader in the field of medical ultrasound—HGMUIC was born from a vision to raise the standard of diagnostic imaging and expand access to specialized training. As a professor and respected authority in ultrasound technology, Dr. Hameed has dedicated his career to advancing sonographic science and education across the region. His efforts have led to the establishment of cutting-edge diagnostic services, comprehensive training programs for healthcare professionals, and accessible care for underserved communities at discounted fee.
Hameed Gul Memorial Ultrasound Clinic was established with the clear ambition of providing quality ultrasound services to the poor and needy patients of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) province at highly subsidized rates. From its inception, our objective has been to ensure that diagnostic ultrasound services are made available at a cost that is at least 50% lower than the prevailing rates charged by private sector providers.
The clinic operates, to the best of our ability, on a “no profit, no loss” basis. Our primary focus is service to the community rather than financial gain, and we continuously strive to maintain affordability without compromising on the quality and accuracy of examinations.
For the year 2026, the approved ultrasound fee is Rs. 500 per patient for ultrasound examinations, which include:
• Abdominal Ultrasound
• Gynecological (Pelvic) Ultrasound
• Obstetrical Ultrasound
This revised fee remains significantly lower than private market rates and is necessary to meet operational expenses while continuing to provide subsidized diagnostic services to deserving patients.
We remain committed to our welfare mission and to serving the community with professionalism, transparency, and compassion.
For almost 30 years, HGMUIC has remained at the forefront of ultrasound diagnostics and education—serving thousands of patients and training countless healthcare professionals.
